Tout Suite The Travel Kitty flew to NY to share travel tips on Better TV.  The show is syndicated across the US and airs this Friday so set your Tivo to Tout!  His favorite tip:  Allow your pet to discover his travel bag as his "safe" place so he will feel secure as he travels.  Pawsome!

Tout likes his bag so much he decided to take in the sights in Central Park...

And Hang with Mary Poppins star, Adam Fiorentino - another world traveler

While Tout took in the sights, he had specatators of his own.   Woof!   No problem.  Tout has 2 big dogs at home and he was in his "safe" place.   Do your cats or dogs have any travel tips or stories....  Fun star sightings are good too!

Super Smiley, Hudson, and Murphy got to share more about their missions with WWLP, a Massachusetts based Television Station.  Video link at: http://www.wwlp.com/dpp/news/2-dogs-trek-2000-miles-to-fight-cancer   Thank you Mike for driving all the way down to Conn. to share the story.  Mike is a Senior Producer for the station and most importantly, he is a Mega Dog lover!  Pawsome!  Dogs touch us in such powerful ways.  They teach us things, make us laugh, and give us missions.  Does your dog have a mission or did he give you one?

Hey everybody!  We had such an amazing journey on the New England leg of Luke, Hudson and Murphy's walk across the US to end cancer.  Super Smiley loved it, and YAHOO NEWS did a Pawsome article on us joining the boys,    http://news.yahoo.com/s/prweb/20100414/bs_prweb/prweb3871524_1    A Super Thank You to Continental Airlines for sponsoring Smiley's flight.  And just today an article shared how dog saliva may hold the key to preventing cancer!    http://www.aolhealth.com/2010/04/16/dogs-licks-could-help-find-new-treatments-for-rare-cancers/     "Rare diseases in humans also show up in dogs," said program director Mark Neff, M.D., in a statement. "By studying the DNA of canines, we expect to more quickly discover the genomic causes of disease and more quickly find ways to better treat dogs, and people."   Guardian and Spirit, my 15 year companions, were taken by cancer, and it would be perfect if dogs helped us find the cause and cure. We all know dogs helped mankind evolve and survive, and I believe they are our teachers and healers.  What do you believe?

Pet Expo USA joined with the Go Green Expo in LA to show all the cool, green, healthy things for pets.  I interviewed Animal Planet's Pit Boss, Shorty, and met his pit, Napoleon.   And I talked with Mackenzie Phillips, Linda Blair (who has a huge rescue/rehabilitation organization), and Travis and Presley, the winners of CBS's Greatest American Dog.  And the coolest thing is that there were so many rescue supporters there!  A great expo!!!  Everyone there really loves their dogs and had so much to share!  This video is a really fast look at the show and I am looking forward to sharing the in depth interviews very soon.   Be sure to tune into Animal Planet Saturdays at 10 PM to catch Pit Boss - one of Smiley's favorite shows!!  Oh, the muscle man on our thumbnail is LA's KTLA's Mr. Muscle, and he loves his little mutt dog too.  All so much fun!!!  Big Woof!

Tout Suite The Travel Kitty and I are flying to LA tomorrow giving us over 110,000 miles together!  And we've learned a lot in all these travels.  You have to make an airline reservation for your pet in advance, and there is a charge of around $100.00 (one way) depending upon the airline.  You have to make the reservation on the phone for your pet, not the internet, and no more sitting in the bulkhead!  Your cabin pet has to fit under the seat in front of you, so your pet travel bag has to fit within FAA regulation size, which is usually around 10x11x19, but be sure to confirm the size with the airline you are flying.  No curbside checkin.  You have to go in and stand in line, so allow plenty of time.  And when you get to security, kitty or pup comes out of the bag!  So prepare for this. Remove your shoes, coats, computers, jewelry, etc first, then take your pet out of his little condo.  Don't get caught with the cat out of the bag!  Imagine the bag gone away through the x ray machine, and now you have to take everything off while holding a cat.  Yikes!!!!!!!!!!  And before you fly, get your pet used to his bag.  Put one of your worn T-shirts in the bag and let your pet go in naturally.  Or if he doesn't wander in, put him in calmly and don't close the door. Let him smell your shirt and go out calmly.  Then when they are in travel mode, the bag will be their safe little condo.  So, after airport security, they will just hop right back into their safe spot.  For Tout's travel story from Animal Attractions TV see our video at http://www.meganblake.com/Website%20Pages/animals.html     on www.MeganBlake.com  We will keep you posted!  Bon Voyage!  Do you have any pet travel stories or tips?  Tout wants to know..........

I will be there! Can't wait! Pet Expo USA and Go Green Expo are showing together Jan 23-24 at the LA Convention Center.  I love going to pet trade shows, checking out all the cool new things, and bringing products home to get the paws up or down from Smiley and Tout Suite. This event is focusing on Green so everything should be Pawsome! http://www.petexpousa.net/  Ed Begley Jr will be a featured speaker of course.  Four Legged Friends Foundation ( www.FLFF.org ) and Dog's Life Magazine ( www.DogsLifeMagazine.com ) will be there. Love them! Smiley and I write a column for Dog's Life, and FLFF is the great organization that presents Dancing with the Dogs.  Smiley and I have judged their fun, fun dancing doggie contests.  The photo here is of the esteemed panel of judges from the Best Friends Adoption Fair where 400 dogs were adopted in one afternoon!! and Yes that is Mr. Smile - He was the honorary doggie judge and likes to be in the front to make sure everyone is smiling.  I will be at the Expo Sat and Sun and will be at the Dog's LIfe Magazine/FLFF booth throughout the day. Hope to see you there.  If you live too far away and can't come, don't worry I will be sharing my show finds and the Smiley/Tout reviews on Megan ♥s Pets right away. Let me know if you will be there or if there is a product you have been looking for....
