Rockin for the pets in NC & on Youtube @ http://www.youtube.com/meganblake#p/a/u/0/3jKTAOEqXX4  Super Smiley kicked off his nationwide Flash Mob Tour 4 Pet Adoption.  The Tour's 1st dance was at Woofs and Hoofs, a pawsome pet event to raise awareness and funds for Ruff Love Dog Rescue and Safe Haven Equine Rescue and Retirement.  FOX 8 invited Megan and Super Smiley on their #1 rated Morning Show to share their message:  "The coolest thing you can do...   is get a Throw Away Dog.  Mutts Rock!!  It's True!!"  Megan and Smiley use the term "throw away" because when a dog is called "a stray" it implies that the animal has strayed, but the term "Throw Away" puts the responsibility where it belongs, on those who abandoned him, and on we who can rescue him.  Woof! and Super Smiles!

Super Zoo in Las Vegas!! ♥ Megan Hearts Pets ♥ Megan Blake's blog ♥

Tomorrow Super Zoo opens in Las Vegas!  It's a national trade show for pet retailers and I will be there to see All the new products.  Can't wait!  There will be over 9,000 pet professionals there, so can you imagine all the products I am going to discover!  Woof from Smiley!  The photo here is from the Luxury Pet Pavilion in Atlanta where many new products were also debuted.  Check out that cool dog/kitty house autumn, the dog picnic tent and bamboo leash and coat. I will have many more new discoveries this week from Vegas.  And the little dog here in the pic, Atlanta, is a puppy mill mother who spent her entire 10 years in a cage and was rescued that week by Tammy Hansen, one of the Luxury Pet Pavilion execs.  Love that!   Beautiful stories and great things for our pets.  What do you want me to look for tomorrow?  If you can't think of anything, ask your dog or cat.  They always have something to say.  :)

Tout Suite The Travel Kitty Gives Travel Tips on "Better TV" ♥ Megan Hearts Pets ♥

Tout Suite The Travel Kitty flew to NY to share travel tips on Better TV.  The show is syndicated across the US and airs this Friday so set your Tivo to Tout!  His favorite tip:  Allow your pet to discover his travel bag as his "safe" place so he will feel secure as he travels.  Pawsome!



Tout likes his bag so much he decided to take in the sights in Central Park...

While Tout took in the sights, he had specatators of his own.   Woof!   No problem.  Tout has 2 big dogs at home and he was in his "safe" place.   Do your cats or dogs have any travel tips or stories....  Fun star sightings are good too!

Happy Easter Week and Passover with your animals! ♥ Megan Hearts Pets ♥

Happy Easter Week everyone and a blessed Passover today!  Isn't it wonderful how people are recognizing how animals can support our spirituality and help connect us to what is true?  The Humane Society of the United States even has a new faith outreach division which examines this and shares wonderful insights and Easter recipes that sound yummy and embrace eating mercifully.  http://www.humanesociety.org/about/departments/faith/   Tout Suite in the photo here is getting a St. Francis Day Blessing in North Carolina, and tonight Smiley and I are invited to a Seder meal to commemorate Passover.  The proceeds from this will go to benefit Best Friends, who we love!!! www.bestfriends.org  Enjoy your Easter preparations, Passover and your beautiful animals, and let us know what they share with you about the specialness of this week.

Rescue Ink Guys from Nat Geo Rock!!! ♥ Megan Hearts Pets ♥

The guys from Rescue Ink on National Geographic were at the kick off party for The Westminster Dog Show and The Angel on a Leash festivities in New York City.  And THEY ROCK!  They put their hearts and souls (and a lot of muscle) into rescuing and defending animals.  Smiley and I are huge fans, and 8 is truly my lucky number because we were all seated together at table number 8!  Rescue Ink rescues all types of animals, not just dogs and cats.  They recently rescued adult and newborn horses from the track!  You can learn more about these warriors for animals at www.rescueink.org .  Thank you Brandon of Pet a Potty for putting us together and for sponsoring this awesome event!!!!  If you haven't seen Rescue Ink, you have to check it out, and if you need a place for your dog to "go" then check out Pet a Potty too at www.Petapotty.com    I had a blast in NY with the dogs!!!!  Our site here was being updated so I missed posting a few days, but we are back and Super Smiling!

I'm Tout Suite The Travel Kitteeeeee.  Flown 100,000 miles, my person and me.  I've learned when I travel, the weather it changes.  And my schedule this whirl also rearranges.  So, whether you travel by plane, train or car, where ever you go, that's where you are....

Tout Suite The Travel Kitty Packing for LA! ♥ Megan Hearts Pets ♥

Tout Suite The Travel Kitty and I are flying to LA tomorrow giving us over 110,000 miles together!  And we've learned a lot in all these travels.  You have to make an airline reservation for your pet in advance, and there is a charge of around $100.00 (one way) depending upon the airline.  You have to make the reservation on the phone for your pet, not the internet, and no more sitting in the bulkhead!  Your cabin pet has to fit under the seat in front of you, so your pet travel bag has to fit within FAA regulation size, which is usually around 10x11x19, but be sure to confirm the size with the airline you are flying.  No curbside checkin.  You have to go in and stand in line, so allow plenty of time.  And when you get to security, kitty or pup comes out of the bag!  So prepare for this. Remove your shoes, coats, computers, jewelry, etc first, then take your pet out of his little condo.  Don't get caught with the cat out of the bag!  Imagine the bag gone away through the x ray machine, and now you have to take everything off while holding a cat.  Yikes!!!!!!!!!!  And before you fly, get your pet used to his bag.  Put one of your worn T-shirts in the bag and let your pet go in naturally.  Or if he doesn't wander in, put him in calmly and don't close the door. Pet Expo USA and Go Green Expo - Together in LA!! ♥ Megan Hearts Pets ♥

I will be there! Can't wait! Pet Expo USA and Go Green Expo are showing together Jan 23-24 at the LA Convention Center.  I love going to pet trade shows, checking out all the cool new things, and bringing products home to get the paws up or down from Smiley and Tout Suite. This event is focusing on Green so everything should be Pawsome! http://www.petexpousa.net/  Ed Begley Jr will be a featured speaker of course.  Four Legged Friends Foundation ( www.FLFF.org ) and Dog's Life Magazine ( www.DogsLifeMagazine.com ) will be there. Love them! Smiley and I write a column for Dog's Life, and FLFF is the great organization that presents Dancing with the Dogs.  Smiley and I have judged their fun, fun dancing doggie contests.  The photo here is of the esteemed panel of judges from the Best Friends Adoption Fair where 400 dogs were adopted in one afternoon!! and Yes that is Mr. Smile - He was the honorary doggie judge and likes to be in the front to make sure everyone is smiling.  I will be at the Expo Sat and Sun and will be at the Dog's LIfe Magazine/FLFF booth throughout the day.
