Thanks Smiley! & Thank U Ryan O'Neal for choosing to adopt a dog! Our Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) episode re-airs Sun, July 17th, 3:00pm and Sat, July 23rd, 12:00pm . These times are for Pacific Coast Time, and OWN doesn't adjust for time zones, so Check Local Listings for the O'Neals episode titled "He Said, She Said." I take 2 dogs from Best Friends to Ryan's Malibu home for him to choose from. Mozart, the little dog Ryan fell in love with, is an amazing ambassador for Pet Adoption. The show is filled with "Reality Show Drama and conflict," but when Mozart enters, it is clear that adopted dogs help bring people together, calm situations and raise our "happy chemicals." Thank you Mozart, Ryan, Oprah and Best Friends for making this showcase for pet adoption possible. and Thank you Super Smiley for shouting it out 4 Pet Adoption once again/ :)

The show has a lot of "drama" and "reality series conflict" but Mozart, the little dog Ryan picks, is a great ambassador as to how dogs can bring people together, can add a calming influence and increase our "happy chemicals." Yea Mozart! Yea Best Friends! and Yea to Pet Adoption! Super Smiley gives it 4 Paws Up! And, We'd love you to join us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/MeganBlake Woof and Super Smiles! :)

Rockin for the pets in NC & on Youtube @ http://www.youtube.com/meganblake#p/a/u/0/3jKTAOEqXX4 Super Smiley kicked off his nationwide Flash Mob Tour 4 Pet Adoption. The Tour's 1st dance was at Woofs and Hoofs, a pawsome pet event to raise awareness and funds for Ruff Love Dog Rescue and Safe Haven Equine Rescue and Retirement. FOX 8 invited Megan and Super Smiley on their #1 rated Morning Show to share their message: "The coolest thing you can do... is get a Throw Away Dog. Mutts Rock!! It's True!!" Megan and Smiley use the term "throw away" because when a dog is called "a stray" it implies that the animal has strayed, but the term "Throw Away" puts the responsibility where it belongs, on those who abandoned him, and on we who can rescue him. Woof! and Super Smiles!

The Humane Society of the United States presented their 25th Genesis Awards last week at which they honor members of the media who create film, television and programing which elevates or helps saves animals or brings attention to issues we can help with. Here Ryan O'Neal and I are on the Red Carpet talking about the awesomeness of dog adoption. Smiley is my giant adopted mutt, and Ryan just adopted a dog from Best Friends that I brought to him. Thank you Humane Society US and Best Friends for all you do for animals. At Genesis, Oprah won for her shows about dolphins in captivity and about puppy mills. Animal Planet's Victoria Stilwell, Shorty Rossi, Betty White and Sex in the City's Kristen Bell among many others were honored. I always felt so isolated in my empathy for animals, and after my first Genesis Awards, I met an entire community who dedicates their lives to speaking for these wonderful creatures. Very reinforcing and inspiring. www.HumaneSociety.org and www.BestFriends.org for more information. And visit Smiley and me on Facebook at www.facebook.com/MeganBlake :) Have a Super Smiley day!

Smiley and I were so excited and honored to participate in the HOPE Animal Assisted Crisis Response evaluation and training in Atlanta last week. The HOPE K-9 teams go into crisis areas like Katrina, 9/11 or schools where shootings have occurred and provide comfort to the affected people. The dogs help relax the people and often encourage them to talk or open up when humans can't. Animals are very special souls that connect with us on a deep energy level. At the training we worked with the Fire Station in Alpharetta, rode the MARTA tram and subway, got on a plane at the Airport, trained with sirens and reenacted disaster scenarios. I am soooo proud of Smiley and of all the new HOPE dogs. Thank you HOPE for providing this service to people and for this opportunity to share our dogs' healing spirits. For more info on HOPE visit www.HopeAACR.org and have a Super Smiley Day :)
